Joel Lo: Hong Kong is not a shopper's paradise

Hong Kong has had a reputation as a "shopper?s paradise" for a long time. But for local shopaholics like me, Hong Kong is a shopper?s paradise only in our memories.

Not that I stopped shopping. I shop a lot. Today I?m in a pair of Church?s shoes which I mail ordered from Sweden, and a Jamieson?s Scottish-style cardigan I bid online from www.rakuten.co.jp.

I always have one or two big Amazon boxes coming every month, filled with CDs I cannot find from HMV in Hong Kong. Also cases of translated Japanese fictions I order from a comprehensive online catalog in Taiwan.
